Law degree with honours, Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), Madrid (1993)

ADDITIONAL TRAINING

Master in Corporate Legal Advice (LLM) Instituto de Empresa (now, IE Law School), being the first of her class 1994-95.
Between 1991 and 1995 she studied Sociology in the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED).
Several professional skills courses (negotiation and management) and legal contents (manager’s responsibility, European companies, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, etc.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Founding partner of Mavens (2008), she heads the Corporate Law Department, which provides integral advice to clients on strategic, contractual and corporate matters, acquisitions, mergers and divestments, shareholder agreements, conflicts between shareholders, prevention and negotiation of disputes and insolvency proceedings, ICT, labour and financial issues. He specialises in transnational transactions.

She combines the practice of law with teaching at ICADE (Universidad Pontificia Comillas) and IE Law School, where she directs the Advanced Corporate Legal Programme – Mergers and Acquisitions and teaches the subject Transaction Structuring in the LLM programmes. She is co-author of the book “Ethics in the Legal Profession”, Aranzadi 2008.

She has received the Forty Lawyers Under Forty (2007) and Best Lawyer (2016 to 2021) awards and has been recognised as a Leading Lawyer In Their Field by Chambers and Partners (2012 to 2021).

Teresa holds a Law degree by the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) of Madrid (1993), where she graduated with honours, and a Master of Laws (LLM) by the Instituto de Empresa, where she was ranked number one in the 1994-95 promotion.

She began her professional career in 1993 at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo and in 1995 she joined PwC / PricewaterhouseCoopers in the legal-tax area. From 1999 to 2005 she worked as a senior lawyer at Clifford Chance, in the Corporate -M&A department, in corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions and contracts. As a founding partner of Rodés & Sala Madrid (2005), she headed the firm’s Corporate and Commercial Department.

Memberships: Alastria Project Board, member of the board of the foundation of the Esteban Vicente Museum of Contemporary Art, non-board member secretary of various companies, ICAM member.
